Our medical room may be the first place you see baby, which is why you’ll find a cozy environment and also a large screen so you can SEE your baby, and SEE that baby’s heartbeat.
It’s also a place where you can be open and honest with our nurses about concerns you have with your pregnancy, including if you’re considering abortion. And if you are considering abortion, an ultrasound is extremely helpful in determining the next steps. There are different abortion procedures available, but it’s largely based on how far along you are in the pregnancy.
A first-trimester ultrasound is used to determine three things:
that baby is in the uterus
that baby has a heartbeat
what your estimated due date is, based on the size baby is measuring
Our licensed registered nurses undergo yearly ultrasonography training in order to provide you with your free ultrasound, which takes place when you are between 8 and 14 weeks pregnant to ensure we can see everything we need to see.
These ultrasounds are provided under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician to confirm pregnancy.
